I almost gave up when Covid hit...

When I began my business I was eager, passionate and had absolutely no idea how to run it but I had a big WHY.

To support women, men and family with trauma recovery and healing so that they can share their inner light and lead with soul sovereignty.

I set up my face to face business through sheer determination to get as much hands on experience facilitating and teaching transformational change, rapid continual learning of modalities, research and education both paid and free plus, buying, sourcing and gathering mountains of art supplies for creative therapy while I ran around like a mad chook networking, marketing and telling everyone that would listen that I could help

All this while I was working part time as a therapy aide/teacher aide in a specialised education setting with children with language disorder, ADHD, ASD and other co-morbilities (high stress environment supporting complex needs).

I was about to sign on the dotted line to secure a position in a wellness centre 1 day a week for the year ahead -- the centre had a registered psychologist, somatic practitioner, play therapist for children and they were very keen to have a creative therapist and mindfulness meditation teacher in the space but I was so new with inconsistent clients and huge doubts about the overheads so I charmed the socks off the owner and he gave it to me at a unheard of reduced price till I had regulars -- never forget that relationships matter in business

However, I continued to hesitate... something just didn't feel RIGHT. I kept delaying to check why...nothing...except a sense that the world would change. (I assumed it was my own limited perspective of my own world)

Then COVID hit

I slumped into a deep depression about having a bricks and mortar business...how stupid that I knew nothing about how to do diddly squat online, tech awkward and definitely, felt even more deflated because creative expression in my eyes for trauma healing is so beneficial and I couldn't do that online could I?

I almost quit.

I thought f it all.

It's too hard.

Perhaps, this is a sign to get out now.

There's too much risk.

Maybe, I'm just not good enough

Then, I stopped and started making creative process pieces including protest art and as I created I listened to business leaders that had successfully, built their highly profitable businesses from scratch, through the depression, pivoted from f2f to online, were looking at past patterns for insight.

Every entrepreneur found a way...much like when my health returned because I listened to my intuition and found the way.

Hope re-emerged.

My biggest learning in BUSINESS is that noone really knows what the heck they are doing majority of the time and landscapes change, so change with it to allow evolving truth to flow.

You have to commit to your mission (WHY) and your biggest believer is YOU.

So with full commitment, I successfully pivoted to a hybrid online and face to face business that generates income, value and personal fulfilment.

The first online E-Book I ever made was in response to COVID-19 and the 14 days in isolation...it has no lead generation, no website, no sales aspect but it renewed my faith in being of service.

No judgement, no hesitation

There is no hesitation to meet the depths of pain and discomfort in sessions with me.

I have often thought about the intensity of my piercing curiosity as a fault that needed to be fixed so that I could fit in.

To blend into cliques.

To make friends.

To hide intuitive intelligence.

To not act weird.

To fawn.

Electricity issues are an ongoing dilemma with upgrades, inspiration and intense energy spikes.

I remember why witches used to live off-grid in the darkest woods to carve out silence to absorb, listen and connect without interference.

So yes, I am present with all parts of you in session and everything that naturally, arises is met with compassion and acceptance.

5 things you may not know about me...

1. I have always been highly creative with poetry, stories, painting, sculpting, using my body to intuitively make projects because it felt soul good. When I went to University I secretly applied for a creative writing course and didn't make the selection I was so caught up in self doubt that I never applied again.

2. I went to an all girls Maori boarding school for 5 years immersed in Maori performing arts, indigenous perspectives, community, routine, toured around New Zealand and travelled over to Washington state in America to showcase the school and Maori culture to the wider community

3. Pre-covid: my initial business cards had a QR code on it and the designer asked if I would consider changing it as it was hard on the eyes but I had seen them everywhere in a prophetic vision so pushed for it to stay

4. I have been communicating with energies since birth: ancestors, elementals, star-beings, the deceased, angels, spirit animals, celestial beings, and souls in astral travels, dreams, vision, somatic experiencing, clear knowing, inner dialogue and was encouraged not to share information received when younger.

5. I grew up an avid reader, would often read the dictionary, was in the top percentile in Australasia for English when 11 and taught myself basic Spanish when my brain fell apart at around 27 I lost access to the majority of the words I knew, struggled to fill in a 1 page form, learnt many ways to camoflauge gaps and continue to remember more and more.

Bonus: I choose to live life with holistic approaches for optimal mental health and well-being. Often, I will leap with intuitive intelligence before it "makes sense" and calm bravery is my emotional home. My passions are uplifting, empowering and encouraging people to embody their highest leadership potential.

The weight of the Sister Wound

I was physically struggling up the hill when a passerby said "put another 7kgs on your back then see how you go?" as she adjusted her pack.

I start wondering

Were we in a silent competition on who can struggle the most?

Was she implying that I didn't have it "hard" enough to be struggling?

I was confused, why would I want to make my life harder?

I tell you what I did feel the weight of though and that is the sister wound.

This wound is the dis-ease, distrust and hurt that many women feel when relating to other women...it can manifest in comparison, judgements, insecurity, gossip, cattiness and downright fear of women striving for more or shining bright.

Women start to see eachother as competition or a source of harm and pain.

It's something that I definitely have had to navigate through with many a judgement detox thanks Gabby Bernstein.

When you are on the way to the top ...you know the women you surround yourself with matter.

I know, because my future self is calling

Judgements, backlash, blaming, shaming, squashing women into girl containers, and directing pain toward another well...

I ain't got time for that!!

The smart women are collaborating, coaching, connecting, resourcing and celebrating eachother's success.

You get so DONE that you fall over in a miserable heap.

Parts of your body numb out, it gets hard to move out of your bed, there's a heaviness that just won't go away, more deep-seated fears generate nightmares that leave you stuck in paralysed stuckness that it will always be this way. Full collapse into hopelessness.

"Good, child"

Now, you can surrender to evolving in the moment, releasing the senselessness of your OWN wants to a greater awareness.

These fearful shenanigans has separated you from possibilities that all will unfold without interference from you into something more extraordinary.

All the professional women that walk into my trauma recovery service understand that they are stuck in repetitive patterns of getting by, awaiting the next disaster and their mental health has taken a hit to their self esteem.

Majority of the time, it appears to all around them that they are high functioning, working effectively, managing okay BUT not many are aware that they are struggling with overwhelm, traumatic flashbacks, insecurities and having difficulties creating connections with clients, partners, family or even leaving their house.

It takes up alot of your energy to just survive.
It leaves you with less money from the days off work to recover your body health.
It creates issues in your relationships because you snap and snarl with those closest to you... because thats just another thing to have to deal with, right?!

But it doesn't need to be that way.

Learning to recognise what is happening within you will make you realise how frequently, survival stress is switching you offline and driving your life -- dictating the chemical rush and the physiological responses to perceived danger CONSTANTLY.

Staying as you are creates repetitive patterns of misery.

Don't be like the old me and stay in pain, hurt and yuckiness.
